The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) is currently offering an interesting postdoctoral position in Digital History. The position is part of the DHARPA.org project which amongst other things develops a network analysis module.
Your Role…
The Digital History Advanced Research Projects Accelerator (DHARPA) at C²DH is looking to hire a postdoctoral researcher as part of a research project sponsored by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). The postdoctoral researcher will work under the supervision of Professor Sean Takats and join a team that already includes two other postdoctoral researchers, a software developer, and an administrative assistant, and which collaborates with the larger C²DH research center. In 2020 this team of five will grow to twelve, and with them you will help to develop a new software platform for historical research, in coordination with your own research program. Like Takats’s other research software projects Zotero (https://zotero.org) and Tropy (https://tropy.org), this new software will be a polished, user-friendly platform intended for wide public adoption.
What we expect from you…
We seek a highly motivated postdoc with the following profile:
- PhD in history or a related field;
- Passionate about using technology to conduct historical research;
- Experience in coordinating (digital) history projects;
- Willingness to cooperate actively in other C²DH projects;
- Experience with Python, Javascript, R, and/or data visualization will be advantageous;
- Experience with grant writing will be a plus;
- Good command of the following languages: English, French and/or German.
