Finance & Cultural Cold War: Network of Cultural Associationism across the Atlantic
In this seminar, Giulia Clarizia will present ongoing research on the role of business and financial elites in shaping transatlantic relations during the early Cold War. Focusing on cultural activities and associations as key arenas of engagement, the talk asks what purposes these forms of association served and whether it is analytically meaningful to describe them as a network. The discussion will reflect on how network analysis and graph-based approaches have informed this research so far, as well as their potential for future inquiry.
