The Historical Network Research Community is excited to be relaunching the Lunchtime Lectures in early 2025, offering opportunities to share upcoming and ongoing research in historical networks. The sessions offer a chance for international scholars of all career stages to present and share work in an informal setting with the wider research committee.
The following types of sessions are welcome:
- Recent results and/or publications
- Discussions on current or completed projects
- Work-in-Progress
- Broad question exploration
- Interdisciplinary dialogue
- Alternative formats are welcome
We invite submissions of 250 word abstracts on any historical network research topic for roughly a 40 minute talk, to be followed by around 20 minutes of questions. All seminars will be held online, at around lunchtime in the speaker’s local time zone and recorded for the HNR YouTube channel. Videos and abstracts of previous lectures can be found here:

Provisionally, the lectures will take place the second Monday of every month from January onwards, as below. The final meeting will be a research in progress session for graduate students. A separate call will be sent in the near future. Please indicate with your abstract which dates you are able to speak at – the more options you can provide, the better!
Deadline for submissions is Monday 31st December; submission decisions will be communicated after the Christmas break.
Applications should be sent to the following email address: events@historicalnetworkresearch.org
